new engines?

Featured Replies

was talking to my dad who's placed an order for an octavia this week.

He test drove a 1.6 hatch, but wanted an estate, so ordered a 1.8

He said that the dealer told him that there were new engines out, or at least, would be by the time his car comes.

He was told (if I remember correctly) that the new 1.8T he's getting will be close in power to a current 2.0, but closer economy-wise to the current 1.6

Is this right ? has anyone heard of new engines coming in, or has the dealer just been pulling his leg ?

Nope is pretty much spot on.

How I miss my 1.8T from my Mk1 :(

Why didn't skoda release the 1.8TFSI a few months ago :finger:

sounds about right and we have been talking about this engine for months ;)

Yes , the 2.0FSI (150bhp) has been replaced by a 160bhp 1.8TFSI engine which should be better to drive and lighter on fuel.

Don't think anyone here has got one yet though

Bit tight considering the old (non VRS) 1.8T was 180bhp.

Trust me you notice being 30 horses short.....

the 1.8T in the elegence was only 150bhp and the vRS was 180bhp :)

Really? I'm sure it was 180, and the VRS around 200. :o

Meh, the 1.8T still seems quicker than my 2.0fsi.

quite sure, i have one sat on my drive ;)

the 1.8T would have had a much wider torque spread thana N/A 150bhp 2.0 :)

the 150bhp 1.8T has full torque available from something silly like 1800-5000rpm.

forgot to say the new vRS with a 2.0 TFSi has 200bhp :)

hmmh- looks like I'll have to try for a shot once he gets it.

sadly in order to get one registered by the end of September to get the free spec upgrade he had to go for one already being built, so he didn't get his first choice of colour
