door lubricant

Featured Replies

Both my Octys suffer from creaky door hindges (except for the front passenger door on the 1.6 which was recently taken off, sprayed and put back on). Any recommendations as to what the best oil or grease is to lubricate the hindges?

I just use a tiny bit of longlife oil on the receivers (brass U-shaped yoke on bodyshell).Seems to work ok.David

Most garages seem to use spray grease - ordinary white grease in an aerosol can. The aerosol solvent probably helps the grease to get into where it's supposed to go.

3 in 1 oil. Solved the problem for a very stiif door in and Octy. I used greaseon it but it's didn't help until, I added 3 in1, basically because you cna't get the greasse everywhere.
