Which Octavia estate?

Featured Replies

Hello all

I'm thinking of buying an Octavia estate - probably Elegance. Any thoughts on engine size welcome. 1.6 too small? Is it a choice between 1.9d or 2.0d - if so is the 2.0 worth the extra?

Are the following extras worth having:

curtain airbags

multi function steering wheel

tyre pressure monitor

Is it true the factory supplied tyres are noisy and you need to change them?

Any thoughts on how it compares with the Focus estate?

thanks

chris

1.9 Elegance would be a good bet for me :)

Drive both the 1.9 and 2.0 diesel and then make your mind up ....1.9 is not bad but the 2.0 is whole different ball game

The 2.0TDI is a much better performer , but you'd get about 8mpg better on the 1.9

It's quite a bit larger than the focus which may or may not be a good thing for you.

None of the options you mention are what I'd consider essential , and there's nothing wrong with the factory fit tyres on mine. They also change what's fitted every few months so you won't know for use what you'll get.

Only way to decide for sure is to take some test drives
