Skoda Virgin

Picking up my first ever Skoda on Friday, bought a jn '07 vRS TDi in silver with 18" wheels, Jumbo, parking sensores etc. Moving from a Yellow leon Cupra 180 BHP petrol.

Planning to drive straight down to cornwall from Yorkshire. Hope its not a lemon or the wife'll kill me!

Do they drink oil? My Leon never touched a drop. What MPG do you reckon i'll get on a steady 80Mph run?

Enjoy your new car, think you should get 45mpg.

Welcome to Briskoda.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Tsunami of TDI torque and will live to tell the tale.

Mine uses half a litre per 3,000 miles so far over 6,000 miles from new.

Should get 42 - 44mpg or better, particularly driving with care as SWMBO (and family?) will be on board.

Enjoy; I'm sure you will.

Don't think so? (Oh; there was something we discussed in a previous thread {I think} but I can let sleeping dogs lie.)

PS> Is your reg no W 16 ***? If so were you in Alnwick Friday morning last week?

Cheers fellas,

SWMBO will be keeping a beady eye on me, Iwas going to buy a Leon FR TDi, but she quite rightly said the boot was too small.

She doesn't like the light seats, but I fell for the car, its got nearly 10k on it, must keep an eye on the dipstick

Despite the mass gain in boot volume, I still think that I might need to use my roofbox. The 7 month old son has a host of equipment; pram, travel cot etc before we even put our luggage in.

(anyone bought the Skoda roof bras (that's roof bars - or other makes?)

This could get me in more trouble as SWMBO suggested an estate, something I was quite happy with , but couldn't find aa TDi vRS at the right price/spec/age etc. She has also returned home with tales of seeing old men wearing hats driving around in Skodas.

The vRS must win her over!
