Bi-Xenon Euro conversion on Superb

Featured Replies

Is there an easy way to convert lights for driving on continent? Stick on converters are not possible and my dealer claims they take 90 minutes to carry out work then the same to change back.

I'm off to France next month and will use Eurolites that stick on but are OK with xenons. As I've mentioned in a previous post, I'm don't want to even try changing the headlights myself!

Does make me wonder why we design these lamps to have 'tourist lever's' when I am sure that very little people actually use them.....

Hmmmm... It does look like you need to be a bit of contortionist to use 'em though! :)

Customer's requirement for the lamps to be non-servicable by the owner.......we have our 'hands tied' so to speak.....LOL!!!

Sorry Baker21 that I'm not using your tourist levers. If I could see them under the bonnet and flick them over for continental driving without all the work involved, then I'd be only too pleased to use them!

But I can see your problem that you have to design them but ensure that the owner cannot use them unless the car goes back to the dealer! Crazy.......

Sorry to hi-jack, but are these "tourist levers" only fitted to Xeons? Or all models of Superb?

Incidentially, Halfords sell the converters for about

My Superb has tourist levers and halogen lamps. The Bl***y stupid levers can be reached by opening the more accessible hatch for the main beam/fog lamp (remove air trunk on RHS). If you look in at an angle, you can just see one of the levers on each dipped unit. Use a bent screwdriver to move it into the opposite position (opposite sides go in different directions).

A design of sheer lunacy - what prat at VAG came up with the idea of fitting levers that the customer pays for and can't use?

rotodiesel.

They are fitted as standard on both Halogen and Xenon versions...

On a side note....how come you haven't posted up improvements of your Superb on this forum mate?!?!?

You will find that this is not only a 'VAG concept', non servicable lamps are very common nowadays and in most cases if your bulb goes or you need to click the tourist lever over then it's a get the front end off johb or pop to your local friendly stealer!!

...glad to see it's not just me thread hijacking! :P

To be honest, I've just not found the relevant section of the forum... I'll rectify that tonight!

Thanks for the info on the lamps though, I'll have a look...

Damn, you noticed?! Heh. Account now activated, and I promise I'll stop thread hi-jacking...

One of my main beam bulbs needs looking at as it's not quite in the right position, so when I do that on Monday I'll look for this lever...

I've used the Eurolites, stick on converters and did quite a bit of night driving across France and Spain, without incident. The instructions for each make of car and type of headlamp are included and they take about 5 minutes to fix. I think I bought them in Halfords.

I bought Eurolites on Ebay from Dennings DIY for
