Veg Oil and Diesel mix

Featured Replies

Been reading about mixing veg oil in with diesel does anyone do this or has tried it It is a cost thing as diesel now nearly

dont do it! i think its illegal isnt it?

It's illegal if not telling the gov't about it (although there was a recent thing where you got 2000 litres free or something?) but it will also knacker your engine given time. IF I were to ever try a veg mix, it would be no more than 10% veg, 90% diesel. But then I like my car to work, so it's having 100% diesel put in.

Double dosing millers sport 4 might help the veg burn better. I know a mate who runs a pug 406 on veg oil chucks in a litre or two of petrol in with a tank of veg. :)

i cant c it being worth it just 2 same 50p p/l i no it adds up but if u gotta buy a new engine coz of it then ur proper fooked!

It's not just the risk to the engine (which perhaps isn't too bad) - But the fuel pump won't like it, and even if running a blend you'll go through fuel filters faster whcih at

plus u and ur car will stink of fish and chip shop:rofl:

The glycerol in veg oil will kill your injectors and alot more.

edit: for some reason I assumed you had a 1.9pd, you may get away with it on an older car using up to 100% with fuel heaters.

The glycerol in veg oil will kill your injectors and alot more.

Yep, and they definitely cost a lot to replace. :D

Dont even attempt this!! Vegetable oil and regular diesel are immiscible,i.e. they dont mix.

Plus, veg oil is more dense than diesel,so it would simply sink to the bottom of the fuel tank so next time you start the car its goodnight Vienna for the fuel pump as it would be stressed beyond its designed capabilities.
