Should D M Keith have a monopoly in West Yorkshire

Featured Replies

Are West Yorkshire members aware that Skoda UK are in the process of trying to force the sale of Lightcliffe Skoda Halifax, the only non D M Keith Skoda dealer left in West yorkshire to none other than D M Keith.

It seems that the current owners of Lightcliffe Skoda have been told to sell to D M K or lose the francise. The latest rumour is that the two companies have been unable to agree terms and that Lightcliffe will be given notice of francise withdrawl very soon, allowing DMK to open in alternative premises in Halifax.

If and when DMK control the whole of West Yorkshire where will customers find a competitive alternative for servicing, parts and car sales.

If like me you object to a DMK monopoly in West Yorkshire lodge your opinion with Skoda Customer Services on 08457 745 745

It's not illegal, per se, but I can certainly see your point. Colne's not far away from you so vote with your feet!

Harrogate too is close enough when buying a car but for service and parts we like to be reasonable local.

Hayselden Skoda?

That's where my Fabia came from, and now lives back in Harrogate with her new owner.

I am considering changing my car shortly, and if DM Keith get the franchise, I will either be buying another VW, or seeing where Nigel goes, as I have nothing but praise for him, and to me good customer service is as important as the make of car.

On the other hand, Nigel may stay and try to improve Keiths dire reputation in Yorkshire.

Competition in West Yorkshire will soon be a thing of the past, don't let it happen, monopoly leads to contempt!!

There are alternative dealers, so we can vote with our cars, as it may be.

For buying, you could use Colne, Harrogate, or Sheffield, and then for servicing, if you don't mind using a different manufacturers dealer, there are Richard Alexander VW/Seat dealers in Leeds and Huddersfield, and maybe many others.

In principal, I agree. DM Keith charged us a fortune for the last service on our old Favorit. I was not best pleased when I was told the price, after the fact of course.
