GT TDI 150 v GT TDI140

Hi

Im just about to buy one of these both are up for the same price and the Mk4 has leather while the Mk5 doesnt.

Which is the better car? I'd naturally assume its the newest 2.0TDI?

I have checked the VED and seen that the TDI150 costs

Didn't we already do this one?

I'll stick my neck out here and say that the PD150 is a better engine for the driving enthusiast than the PD140, IMVHO. I found it to be easier revving and with more punch seemingly, but that said I am comparing to a Leon PD150 which perhaps was lighter by some margin than my Octy?

On the other hand, I believe the chassis on the new Golf is far better than the old one (once again, my basis for comparison was on a Leon Cupra so not a particularly level playing field . . .).

Don't forget you have to pay tax on your car allowance.

Also some companies will expect you to spend most of that on your car and will have a policy about what you can and can't buy.

They aren't giving you all that money to buy a cheap shed and pocket the difference

True the rules are it has to be newer than 8 years old - but can be a Citroen C1 or BMW 535d M sport (given I pay the additional contribution). They do highly suggest that strong consideration is given to the MPG and as such they pay
