Well I bough a skoda going on all the hype regarding relianbility and stuff and to be hionest its one of the worst cars I've ever had constantly in garage and so glad i got extra warranty but now seems to be getting faults not covered by warrany, I know all cars have ther inherant falts but never had a car like my fabia. Hope i never will again when i eventually get rid

The MK I focus was very well built IMHO.

I have owned at least 10 different makes of car over the last 20 years, very few of them being more than 3 years old, mostly new, and I have to say that having had 4 Skodas in the last 18 months, they have been the most reliable marque of the lot.

Having said that, my last few VW's have been dreadful for niggly faults,and the local dealer was abysmal at aftersales.

Don't be put off by the minority of Skoda owners that post their problems on forums. There will be many other owners out there that will be satisfied and have no issues, but you don't get to hear of them because they aren't sad enough to spend their time on forums or maybe don't have a computer.
