Just trying to remove the blade

I also spent 5 minutes trying to figure this impossible task.

It simply pushes in. Not like front ones. Don't twist, slide or pull sideways; just pull at 90 deg to cover; hinge is just a plastic c shape in middle. It is tight. Glad to hear someone else has sworn at it!. Might help to hinge out arm then pour hot water over hinge area to expand and soften the plastic.

I couldnt work this out either and thought it was better to leave it alone then break it.

Where did you buy a replacement from? (halfords dont do them)

Ah ha! managed it Cheers :)

I didnt buy a replacement was turning the blade around as the wiper makes a lot of noise so hopefully switching its direction should fix it.

Although i hear you can get replacements from the dealers :)

lift the cover on the arm and underneath is a nut - need a 13mm spanner to undo and then just pull off - if you need a replacement you`ll have to go to a dealer for a new one ,

Replacement wipers are only

There is no need for spanners, nuts or anything else. It just pops out. Slide a finger under it at either end and pull. It does take some force, but it will come out no problems. The replacements are

I too reversed mine because it was juddering - cured the problem. Mine's still the original after 36,000 miles and three years.

BTW if you do want to replace the whole arm I've uploaded some pictures - refer http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/rear-wiper-arm-removal/54970/

There is a 'How to do' bit on this in 'Technical Guides' in the 'Tips: Fabia Tips' thread. Apparently these blades are only designed to work one way and are often fitted upsidedown at the manufacturers as mine was, took two mins to turn round and now it works fine!

If you get a scraping noise from the rear wiper just make sure the return spring under the arm hasn't bust, sometimes they do and rub on the rear screen.
