Climate Re-Gas frequency?

Featured Replies

Can anyone advise how often I should get the climate Re-Gassed?

I get mine done every two years as per the recommendations of the place which does it.

Thanks. The car is coming up for 2 years old. Will need to shop round for prices now.

yep, 2 years is a good rule of thumb, it's not just the refrigerant level that's important, but also lubricant that keeps the mechanical and seal system in good order.

Expect to cost around

better get mine done, nearly 4 years old. OpppppS!

Halfords do it for

And VW dealer can do it for

On a related note, so thought I'd post here. I've noticed latley mine, when it's hot and I've got it on 18deg like always, I get constant bursts of air instead of a steady flow. Could this be a regassing problem?

Although if you use it all the time, chances are it will last much longer. My car is now 5 years old and never needed regassing (and is still capable of pumping out uncomfortably cold air). I'd personally wait until the air being churned out is not ice cold before doing a regas.

Potentially, or could be a sensor issue. When you select Lo does it pump out freezing air?

Chris

I thought the reason for having it done regularly was because they change the oil at the same time?
