driving my octavia today,changed from 4th to 5th then the cluch pedal went to the floor.

managed to get it home,i thought it might be the cylinder on the front of the gearbox,i went to push the pedal down and its gone solid.

had a gearbox specialist look at it and he thinks it could be just something gone inside the gearbox, which can be got at by taking the plate of on the end of the box,something to do with plastic?not sure, any ideas please?

found the problem,the clutch arm going into the gearbox was fine but the piece that pushes against the bearing onto the rod had cracked so everytime i pressed the clutch it jumped the teeth causing the pedal to go to the floor.

must wait untill after the holidays now,not that newport dealers carry much suplies,they wanted
