Climate Control problem?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I bought a octavia vrs 05 plte in April mileage 19k. Not overly impressed with climate control on Auto 'cold' setting. Previously had a Primera 52 plate on which climate only went as low as 18 degrees but felt considerably colder. Took it for a regas and leak check, confirmed no leak but was still disappointed with lack of really chilled air. On a warm day air does not feel particularly cold, car is still under warranty but thought I would ask you guys for a diagnosis before skoda try and fob me off with excuses.

Did they regas it or do any other checks?

Fault codes?

Worth checking the compressor (know weakness) and reading off the fault codes with VAG-COM :D

Thanks guys re the fault codes might give that a go. Incidentally it is very frustrating as I went out this morning outside temperature was 21degrees and climate was set to low and felt so cold on my right hand on steering wheel makes me think that the cold air is only working intermittently puzzling really as you would think when it is on it is on and should be a constant cold tempereature.

Sounds like the V71 problem I have. If I were you, I would get someone to check it with Vag Com to see what error codes if any are thrown up. If there are codes, try searching on the Ross Tech Wiki to see what remedies they suggest. Then bring it back to the dealer and see what he says. If he fobs you off, then you will at least know that he is!
