More power for Octavia 1.4

Featured Replies

IS THERE ANY WAY TO INCREASE THE B.P.H ON A 1.4 OCTAVIA ?

Yes - sell it and get something with a turbo.

Although rumours are rife about a 350+ odd bhp 1.4 octavia somewhere around the Kent area....

Plenty of petrol turbos to choose from. ;)

buy a new car mate, its simply not worth it as the gains will be so marginal for a lot of money spent.

you can get a nice 1.8t 4x4 off auto trader for 3K now ;)

Although the easy way to increase the power to weight ratio (which is what is important) is to strip out unnecessary weight. What you deem unnecessary will determine how much you can remove, but things like the back seat, spare wheel and tool kit all add up to a fair few kilos.

The other advantage is it doesn't cost you a penny

Chris

there are a few things you can do to the 1.4, i used to have one back when i was 18, you can get induction kits for it same as polo 1.4 16v or golf, exhausts you will have to get made, you can also pick up a 100bhp version head off the 1.4 16v in the polo and fabia again, and im sure theres a company thats remaps it but only give about 8bhp on top, some people cant afford the running costs or insurance of the turbo models so its cheaper to mod and keep you happy i know how it feels lol,

Change the engine and gearbox to 1.8T would be the best bang for buck.

As for the 1.4 it's now a 1.5  and the only reason it runs a weedy 350bhp is cos the rollers can't cope. .........so I'm told.
