Oh I love it when I get technical

When the unit is powered up, it makes a loud chigiddy chigiddy chigiddy noise which can go on for quite a few seconds.

I'm guessing it's simply searching for the CD, but it does sound rather agricultural and out of keeping with the rest of the civilised Skoda experience than I'm used to.

Is this normal?

Mine does it too... sometimes even drowns out the music itself... then there were three.

mine has done this for some time ...... now getting cd error which is rather worrying...... :( oh well an excuse for an upgrade....
