Help please it keeps stalling!

Featured Replies

Got a skoda felicia lxi plus 1995 model that keeps stalling after about 5 minutes travel. No problem when it is idling - runs perfectly - but not when driving. Can someone tell me what it is and how fixable it is for a layman.

Cheers

Check that the throttle cable isn't over-tight and holding the throttle open just a gnat's. I had that very issue with a pretty new ZX, and the problem was that I'd over-tightnened the throttle cable.

battery problems?

is it stalling when the clutch is down?

Thanks guys but it isn't battery or connections - changed & checked these also it doesn't cut out when clutch is in. I have read that it could be the crankshaft sensor at fault but how the heck do i find out and where the bleep is it does it look like etc?

crankshaft sensor, if its the same as the 1.6, will be,

look at the top of the motor itself, then look down the right side of the motor, then its flat again, have a look on flat bit, its about 10 inches from the motor ( i think)

and has a black cable coming from it,

if you post a pic someone will highlight the bit you need!

here is a photoshopped pic of where it is!

I'd check vacuum hoses, the fuel tank vent system (emission control) and possibly the fuel filter.
