I was wondering what the difference is between the 53 Fabia vRS & then the 54 plate and onwards?

I've noticed that when you go for an insurance quote there's 2 different Model's as it seems, so wondered if there was a physical difference between them???

Small update of looks thats all really. Different rear lights, dash trim and a few minor changes inside like the deletion of the rear internal lock buttons.

IIRC different "longer" gearbox in the 03/53's ?

A few members have a mix of different parts (myself included).

I have a June 04.

Has old style rear lights, rear middle lap belt

But has a short rear VRS badge and rear chrome locking pins

In that I presume most people would prefer the later version then?

I've been looking at ( only on a website & not been to see it as yet) a Black vRS 53 Plate with just over 23k on the clock, but wasn't sure if I would be better to hold out for a silghtly younger model, i.e. possibly a 54 plate!!!

Does anyone know exactly when they made the changes? i.e. I presume most of the 04 plates out there would be in effect ( if I can call it that) the mk1 vRS and then all 54 plates would be a mk2 model??

The changes are really not worth worrying about unless you regularly carry 3 in the back in which case a full belt is better.

I have a 53 plate reged in 04 with rear middle lap strap but older style longer badges. 53 with 23k on the clock! if the price is good definately get it!
