Brake upgrade to VRS Brakes

Featured Replies

I'm thinking that when the brakes need changing I might put the disks/pads from a VRS TDI onto a 2.0 TDI.

I'm just wondering what size they are compared to those on the TDI (eg is it worth it) and if they are bigger what parts would be required to do the change.

Anybody any ideas?

Thanks

So I get the feeling I'd be the first to even consider this then?

It certainly looks that way from here.

Do you find the standard brakes a little underpowered?

I don't know they just don't inspire the confidence the FS III did and are a little poor at stopping i feel once they heat up.

I guess I might just do better pads, groved disks and a fluid change when the current ones all wear out.

If the carriers are the same, then I can't see why you couldn't swap them over. You may find they don't clear your current wheels though.

Looks to be plenty of room around the current ones, it is just a case of working out what would be needed.

I have to say, there is a big difference in braking power between the standard Octavia and the vRS so it might be worth upgrading them.

Sounds like an interesting upgrade if the disc's ever need changing!
