Another noise

Featured Replies

Spot the noise issue:

Driving through an enclosed space, maybe a multi storey or a narrow road, and at slow speed and bumps the car makes a sort of "phss" noise. I can only presume it some suspension noise that may be normal, but no previous car has done it over the same ground.

I wouldn't say it was a creak, that is going too far. Just a sort of squeaky/phssing noise when the suspension bounces.

It's the shockers, mine does it and my old one did it.

Sounds like a rubber dog toy with no squeaker in it being squeezed

That's it! Yes, the rush of air from a rubber toy and no squeaker.

So it's normal then.

And thanks for the link ap0gee, that is the noise.

Another one off the list for Mr Skoda to look at. Just interior noises now - they will be happy!

How paranoid are we, every little noise starts to get you thinking of what is going to go wrong next. I have come to the conclusion that as long as it isn't clunking banging or has flames coming from it then it is generally OK ;-))

Totally agree with you there mate....... other than squeaks. And vibrations that buzz. And plasticky knocking noises from behind panels. And rattles. Oh, and creaks. And metallic "ting ting ting" sounds.........

.......still this is a Skoda forum and not one about my rattly 52 plate Peugeot!!

(which eventually did make a banging noise when the fuel pump seized, riped the cambelt off, smashing the valves through the pistons which then knocked them all back up into the head shattering all of the rockers, bending the tensioners and buckling the pulley wheel. That's what happens at 95mph when thinks go wrong!):o

Oh dear, the pitfalls of a car forum....:orb_duh:
