Auto light help

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if and how it is possible to adjust:

1. The ammount of daylight needed to turn on the lights.

2. The speed needed to turn on the headlights?

At the moment it is pretty dark before my lights will turn on, and you have to do about 90mph for over 15 seconds to get them to turn on!

Thanks.

Cheers, I have looked at it and OMG I am confused, can anyone translate into "Simple Terms" for me!!! I have not got a clue what to do with that!

If you wanted to experiment with different values then you could try -

91% = 5B

90% = 5A

89% = 59

86% = 56

85% = 55

84% = 54

83% = 53

82% = 52

81% = 51

80% = 50

79% = 4F

78% = 4E

77% = 4D

73% = 49

72% = 48

Do you see the pattern?

Stu What you telling me???? a Pattern??? what on earth lol is ther an easy guide to this, like for setting the xenons, that was easy.

Cheers

Those values are the % transparancy required to switch on. I don't know if it needs to go up or down.

The pattern is in the hex numbers, they go as far as 9 before moving to letters.

These are adjustments via VAG-COM or VAS.

If it throws any light on situation - 5A etc is a hexadecimal number ( number based on 16,or to the base 16).

From 1-9 ,numbers in Hex are as in decimal ( base 10), after that they change to letters, A ,B,C,D ,E,F, SO 32 ( base 10) would be 20(base 16).

I have got the hex situation now. In the morning I will try read what my readings are, but I'm not sure where to find the module for the lights and wipers? anyone know what control module it is under?

cheers

It's a sub controller of 09 Central Elc.

When you go into coding you should have a drop down box.

Hi I have been out to the car this morning to try and work this out. So far I have discovered that I can get into part of the coding, and if I click on the "long coding helper" it shows options for enabling things such as lights permanatly on for scandinavia, and I can enable this. as for seeing anything about pecentage of light needed for turning them on, I can't. There is a drop down, to 2 other controllers????? they are not such long numbers, and no "coding helper" so I'm a bit lost. I tried to convert ect, but it just baffeled me!!

any more ideas? Cheers
