Hello everyone,

Another VAG nut here! I'm here to learn more about the 1.8T powerplant and the various routes available that hopefully lead to more power :)

Welcome, have a look around the "my performance" forum, there are some items there, also check the faq section for "real skoda's" posts they are very informative.

Thanks Manny, I will have a bit of a read :) Am I correct in thinking that all the Skoda mods will apply to an S3? Basically the same engine isnt it?

Welcome to Briskoda. Nice looking motor you got there!

A lot of parts are common across the VAG range. I guess the S3 must have some of these, and indeed some better ones.

The S3 is the twin intercooled engine either a APX or BAM engine code depending on age and output.

The Octavia only ever run the single intercooler'd engine (well std anyhow) and thus a few parts like inlet manifold and pipe work are different, but in essence they are very similar.

What car do you have, an A4 perhaps looking at your sig, they again are similar but there are differences in turbo etc as the engine is mounted differently.

Cheers

Ross

Thanks for the replies :)

Ross, I'm looking at S3's at the moment and aiming for 350 at the crank. I've not done much research yet so I've no idea what sort of numbers the Haldex system is happy with, maybe you know?

I know there are 205, 210 and 225 versions, did anything significant change? The 225 had 9:1 C:R (as appoosed to 9.5:1) and larger injecotrs/FPR but that's all I know :)

Sportec run a 460 bhp S3.

We do the conversion it follows like this....
