Can you see anything on the card if you use a card reader?

yeah, the same meaningless files its shows on my phone

Sounds like a cheap fake mem card - from ebay, specifically China, per chance?

You could try a mem car recovery tool, but chances are pretty slim on fake cards of ever getting anything off them.

A legit 1gb card will cost you less than £15, 2gb circa £18 ;)

well its worked fine for around 6months and yes it was from ebay but how are you suposed to know if its fake or not?

If the seller's in china or APAC, then chances are extremely high! ;)

lol, forgot to mention thought........i can save new files and pics/vids onto the memory card through the phone. So surely its not a dud one its just corupted my old files?

If the card has corrupted files, it should be considered a dud and not trusted with anything you dont want to lose.

I had one go like this, it appeared to be ok but would corrupt files randomly. I would just go out an buy a new one from a trusted source, they are very cheap anyway these days.
