insurance hike - not happy

Featured Replies

Just been on the phone to my insurer.

firstly they had the covered me on the wrong car

apparently they quoted me on a 1.8t elegance not the rs. not too bad as it was 20 quid more which i can live with

however declaring my new forge dv which doesnt increase performance has now stung me for a further 80 quid premium hike.

will have to hunt around next year for a more mod friendly insurer. btw i am with privilege just incase anyone else is and is thinking of changing anything from standard.

Mine did this to, IIRC it was about £60 for my Forge DV and Carbonio CAI.

Most insurers will increase if your in a current policy as they know you are most likely not going to change insurer, its only at renewal you can get the price better.

I'm with equity red star through adrian flux they seem to be good with mods.

im currently wondering whether to see how much it will be to declare my injen cai too

I don't think I paid any increase for my DV.

It's a standard part fitted to the car, your simply uprating a plastic part that is known to fail.

I'd be tempted to give them another call just to check that price!

I'm with Privilege too, will have to check what they say with regards to getting a remap when it gets to renewal in December as I'm considering getting it done early next year

I've gone through Adrian Flux. They gave me a quote for a standard vRS then gave me a quote for the car with the mods including a re-map & it was only £60 extra with all the mods. Sweet!!
