vRS insurance value...

Featured Replies

Ok, following on from: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/had-accident-my-vrs/88312/

Car has been into the bodyshop to be estimated.

But just out of interest, what is an 03, 53 plate with 52k on the clock worth to an insurance company?

Think it might be borderline to whether its fixed or written off... :(

The issue is usually whether the repair quotes reaches approx 70% of the market value. The Glass guide will give you the value or the parkers site should give you a basic idea but isn't as accurate.

A guy i work with said 50%, and he used to work for Norwich Union...

EDIT: Parkers says £7k from a franchised dealer, £6,200 good private, or £5,800 p/x

What figures do they usually go by?

ANOTHER EDIT: With 30k on the clock

Part-exchange Price:

Excellent condition:

£5660

Average condition:

Below average condition:

I don't think it's as low as 50%. I was told by a crash repair company who were responsible for pricing up the damage on my vrs, I'm sure they said somewhere around 70%. but I stand to be corrected. It would be fairly safe to assume that the figure a little between insurance companies as well.
