Fabia Fuel Filter Query

Featured Replies

Had a quick look at the fuel filter last night (Fabia 1.2 '05 model) then compared the notes in the Haynes manual regarding renewal, and of course it talks about something entirely different. First looks like the filter is in a plastic cradle held on by two philips type screws. The had a look at the pipe connections, Haynes mentions that these are quick release catch sort by squeezing the catch - whats the best way to do this, can it be done by hand or needs a tool?

Cheers.

Its a bit early to think about a fuel filter change - is it not? I have had a look at changing my 2000MY V6 Passat one and VW could not find the correct one on their EKTA parts list - I kept getting told it had to be the one with straight pipe stubs - but mine has banjo fittings - eventually I forced them into accepting the ETOS p/n I came up with - that was the correct one. I have also had a look at changing my wife's 2003MY Polo 1.4SE fuel filter - this one seems a bit of a challenge for VW as well - I really need to get the p/n of the original one. Seems it might be the one that gets a pressure regularor mounted in series with it - so I and you might need new rubber seals to fit into the push-on connections.
