Here goes, Pembo's new spoilers

Featured Replies

At last! Heres the bumpers I got off stu hatch ages ago, and finally got round to fitting them. The front one was fairly easy, just removed the front bumper to make life easier, then removed the plastic trim from the inside rather than tugging away at it. The spoiler simply cliped in place really nicely and looked a treat.

The back one was a bit more of a pain as I removed this too in order to make the fitting a bit easier - sods law:rofl: , the rear light cluster had to be removed which was a struggle due to the tightness of the work area - the mudflaps sadly have to go, but Im looking at getting the MK4 golf ones to replace them. Working on the underside without jacking the car was fun, as 2 screws have to be taken out, resulting in a circle from the zorst on my forehead:O so make sure you have let the car cool down enough before sticking your head there:rofl:

Cutting the original bumper to allow the spoilers exhaust moulding to fit snug is easy too, just use a hacksaw blade if your cheap like me:rofl:

The rear spoiler was a bit of a tigher fit, but with some gentle persuasion it does fit. Once its over the bumper its a doddle to refit but it is easier with a helper.

I even managed to sort out the horrible gap between my boot and bumper:D

Im taking the car to the place where they sprayed the bits tomorow hopefully, so that he car polish the paint on them because he couldnt do it with them off as they were too flexible.

All I need now is a tailpipe so if anyone knows of some where I can get one ;)

Anywho, heres the pics. Ill get some more tomorrow with my proper camera at a nicer location:thumbup:

(Pics taken on N95)

I found the front one gives the impression of the car sitting lower and definatly looks more sporty!

:rofl::rofl:

The car looks great mate. Good job:thumbup:

I would a thought there was enough farce already

Car looks good

It's the driver I'm So worried about

Really like the look of the new front / rear bumpers....... We popped Honda aerials on our vRS's earlier this year and are very pleased with them.

Cheers

Dave.

like that front spoiler m8... makes it more aggresive looking... :D

I really like the front one, I've never seen it on another car. Is the back one the same as the vRS? It'll look brilliant once it has an exhaust filling the gap. And ALLOYS!

I still think the headlight brows just make it look sleepy, though :P

Yeah, I think the **** is now the same as a vrs:D

I'd love to get some alloys but the insurance are being a bit funny with it so I think ill switch over to adrian flux when this policy with norwich union runs out, and do it that way. Otherwise Ill keep an eye out for standard vrs wheels as they suggested they would be ok:thumbup:

I was half thinking of taking the brows off now that Ive got the bumper done, but still not 100% sure:rofl:

The new rear one looks a little matt? A spot of AG SRP should do the trick.

He's called Mike

Like I said, Im taking it back in next week to get the lado to polish it with his machine FOC. He couldnt do it with them off because they had too much flex.

I have some AG SRP in the shed and Ive used it before on parts Ive sprayed, its blumin good stuff:D

I like it.

The front looks great but for me I would lose the brows. Back is looking nice too but don't go too daft with the exhaust.

Even the standard Vrs alloys wouldlook v nice on it now and really make it look finished.

You're doing a nice job.

Look forward to seeing it in the flesh at the next meet.

Cheers

Looking good , oh , and I like the 'brows!

 Ta, Im gonna give them a trial with them off probably and see if I prefer them on or off:thumbup:

Seconded  Some colours don't suit IMO - but on yours looks fine.

In any case you wouldn't want to mislead people into thinking there was anything 'normal' about the car and driver

  • 2 weeks later...

I like what you have done and think you should keep the brows

Have you thought about putting bigger steel wheels on and some descent looking trims might do the job?

Pembo, Nice looking kit you got on .

but one thing missing are the the alloys wheel

Anyway i might be thinking of selling the fabia vrs 16in with tyres next month to get a 17in vrs octy alloy so you can alway get in touch wiv me and make a offer for it .
