Beams washer - disconnect !!!!

S O L V E D !!!

I have found the fuse. It is number 36, 20A fuse (yellow one), in the cabin fuse box (not fuse box in engine compartment). In the manuals, it's described as "front light washer installation".

I've tested it few times with light on, switching engine on and off to reset it and it doesn't wash the beams. Windshield is washed wih no problems. Also, no failure warnings on MaxiDot. I'll see in next few days if any warning comes up.

I guess this solves the problem, at least it did for me.

Eureka - done it. The power of Briskoda again. I'll check mine out at lunchtime and take the fuse out.

Next suggestion: if (as it would appear) there is a seperate fused power supply for the headlamp wash, it ought to be possible to locate the wiring and install an in-line switch mounted somewhere on the dash, easiest near the fuse box; so that you don't have to take-out put-back the fuse when the weather gets foul, mud/road salt etc and you want to use the headlamp wash - just flick the switch.

Any budding Electricians reading this? Best of both worlds then, isn't it?

Well I din't want to mess with it beacuse of warranty issues, it still has 1 year and that would definetely void warranty. When time for service comes, I'll just put the fuse back.

The fuse I've taken off, I've put at position 37 as that one is for heated seats I don't have. So it will be easy. When needed I'll just move it one position.

The other thing is that I live in south of Portugal where almost never rains (more then 300 sunny days a year) so I just don't need headlights washers.

Bingo - done it.

Taken out Fuse 36 and the headlamp wash doesn't work any more. I've put the fuse in the 'spare fuse holder' at the side of the fuse box, ready to put back if I want to.

Job done.

I'm glad we can improvise when we need it.

I've driven the car for some time today with lights on, trying washer several times. It still looks OK. No headlighs washer and no any kind of warning on MaxiDot.
