Small Badging mod... your opinions please!

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of making a subtle little sporty-looking mod to my 1.4 16V by sticking a badge on the front grille. I'm not into the idea of trying to make my car look like a vRS, so that badge is out, but I want to kedep it looking OEM+, so I've narrowed it down to a few 16V badges from the VW group. Let me know which one you think would look good...

Badge 1:

Genuine VW Lupo 16V front grill badge # chrome emblem - eBay, Volkswagen, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 18-Sep-07 14:57:29 BST)

Badge 2:

VW GOLF MK3 --"16V"-- FRONT GRILL BADGE RED - eBay, Volkswagen, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 19-Sep-07 21:41:30 BST)

Badge 3:

VW POLO MK4 (6N) 94-00 -"16V"- FRONT GRILL BADGE CHROME - eBay, Volkswagen, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 19-Sep-07 21:48:45 BST)

I think the 1st one would be the better option.

What about the rear, losing the Fabia and 1.4 strip and put on another 16V badge.

I dunno. I quite like the rear badges. I've taken the crappy little 'Comfort' badges off the front wings though.

the red one :)

the red one :)

That's my gut instinct too, but I'm worried it might look a bit brash? I don't want to do anything too chavvy.

I'd say the first if you really want the OEM+ look....

The red one would suit if your car was red and you had a colour coded grill IMO

Hmmm. My sister has a Lupo 16V Sport, so I might borrow her badge and offer it up to my grille and see what it looks like...

Hmmm ... i think that without any badge is better ;) but the second one is the best from that 3 :)

For me I wuite like the 1st one.

Cheers

1st one. Its got a backing plate by the looks of things, so should be easier job :)

I like the bottom one, not too chavy, and does the trick.

What about this look.

I'd go with the 3rd one personally. But I'd also be tempted to try the red one, to see how it looks.

actually the one displayed by mluton is the ticket!

What, a Citroen ZX 16v / Saxo VTS badge?

Way cool! :thumbup::cool:

Hmmm. The plot thickens. There is also this Golf badge...

Number 1 for me too. Looks like something they would have put on from the factory. The other ones are a little blingy or just plain out of place.

Nate

split opinions eh!

I'd say the second one. Although if your car is anything other than silver, black, red or white - go for number 1

yeah M's one looks ace ;)

Did u know that if u put a vts 16v badge on a standard vtr 8v it instantly gives you 20bhp

Id go with the first, its the badge that is fitted to the fabia's sister car the polo 9n.

1st one for me

Well my car is graphite grey metallic, so on the spectrum between silver and black. I still think the red one could work.

I'm going to try the red one as I found one 2nd hand on eBay for £4, so if it looks crap, it's not too much of a loss. If I don't like that, then I'll try the first one.

Looking forward to those extra horse-power... ;)

That one would good look on the rear I think. After all, it's a rear badge from a Mk2 Golf GTi...

The new badge arrived today. I think it looks pretty good, personally. What do you reckon?

Nobody like it / hate it?

I expected it to cause a bit of a Marmite reaction.
