a couple of suspension questions?

Featured Replies

i will be looking at getting the fabia lowered soon and was wondering is the vrs suspension different to my fabia comfort for example is the vrs already lowered? if it is i know where there is a couple of vrs's in a scrap yard which i could get the suspension off!:)

2nd question - what would the suspension be like if my fabia was lowered just on springs im not to bothered about the handling side of things as im not in to thrashing my car its just for the lowered look really but i dont want the ride to be uncomfortable or anything any help would be great thanks!

VRS is 25mm lower than standard fabia, ride is good, not too hard . If anything too sloppy! you may be better off investing in decent springs such as eibach springs. £150 for them Well worth the money as well! This will lower your car further approx 50-55mm from where it is sitting now.

iirc the VRS is 10-15mm lower than a standard Fabia , but the spring rates are different due to the VRS being a lot heavier than all the other Fabias , so it really is not practical to fit VRS springs to a comfort although they will fit

just buy some Eibach springs that are specific to your vehicle

I agree.

harder than standard.

I would not run the Eibach springs on their own and would recommend getting matching Eibach dampers. The springs alone can make the ride a bit choppy whereas the Eibach springs and dampers maintained the comfort but just made the car more compliant through the bends....

The Eibach springs will drop your Fabia 35-40mm.

Andy_Ellis runs/ran vRS suspension on his 1.9 TDI Comfort and reported that it was an improvement over stock, however, I'd personally go straight for the Eibachs...
