Radiator fan on while engine switched off

Featured Replies

I have a 51 plate, fabia 1.4 16V. I was driving to collect my sister from college and when i got back home and switched the engine off i could still hear the radiator fan still going for a good 10-15 seconds then it turned itself off.. is this normal? - should i take action?

The steering has gone heavier too, the warning light for powersteering was trigered.. so i checked the fluid under the bonet and there was enough fluid inside- does anyone know why steering has gone heavier?

a sensor can go faulty on the PAS , common fault , well covered on the forum

there could be some electrical gremlins causing the fan to stay on , have you had a problem with the fan before ?

its pefectly normal for the fans to stay on after engine is shut off, to cool the fluids... all the cars I've ever owned have done this (including my fabia) no reason to worry :)

edit: the steering though needs checking out...

As above ^. Its very normal for a fan to stay on a short while after the engine has been switched off. Relax :)
