L&K or Elegance?

Featured Replies

Farther-in-law is considering changeing his Superb 1.9tdi Elegance auto,

He wants an Octavia 2.0tdi DSG but not sure which trim level to go for

If he went down the L&K route he would go for thr half leather option as he does not like full leather (the superb is half leather)

He can get a better deal if he goes for the Elegance.

My Question is apart from the leather electric seats, is the L&K worth the extra £2000 over the Elegance?

I know when I was looking at buying my Octavia last year (before I arranged a brilliant price for the Elegance I got), I too looked at the L&K trim and aswell as the electric seats you got a few more bits, MFSW, ESP, but I got a price of just under £13000 including MP, ESP, MFSW and a few more bits and pieces.

I did not think the L&K was worth the premium imho. Happy with the Elegance in all honesty although it does not have leather seats.

Well the L&K does have the curtain airbags, ESP, Xenons, MFSW, Audience system, Automatic headlights, 17" alloys, heated frontseats and electric driver and passenger seats.

In my opinion having all that as standard is worth the 2k!

I may well be wrong, but I am sure last May (when I was looking into buying my Octavia), I am sure you never got all that then. The spec appears to be much more complete now.

One thing I do remember though, the discounts on the L&K were far less than the other models, which I guess shouldn't have surprised me.

Yeah same with mine, I've got the Elegance upgraded one rather than the proper one! The new one has a lot more as standard. You do get more discount on the Elegance than the L&K on Drive the Deal...3k vs 2k.

All really depends on how specced out you want your car.

I have an elegance and would have said the old spec L&K was not worth it, but the new one certainly is.

Got a L&K last June with the new spec well worth the extra Go for it you wont be dissapointed,

Another vote for the L&K heavily biased but hey.

There is tons more kit over the Elegance.

Note the drivers seat is the only electric one, the passenger seat is manual but it's also heated, the auto dimming door mirrors are no longer fitted, just blue tinted ones like the vRS.

In addition to the high spec you also get nice little touches like the carpet floor mats, L&K kick plates, LED backlighting in the door handle recesses and chrome exhaust trims.

The 17" Sputnik alloys are exclusive to the L&K as well.

it you want the extras the l and k gives you then go for it, no wont regret it. the black alcantra trim is also really nice :) but if you go black car then the grey leather looks mint!

the difference is worth it for the xenons and leather imoa

I have a black L&K and the light leather, it's a barstward to keep clean but I wouldn't have it any other way!

I keep seeing pics of the ones with the light leathers and keep thinking I wish I had that. But the Onyx leather doesn't show the dirt at all!

I thought that in the New L&K the passenger seat was electric aswell?!

I still say go for the L&K but I'm biased :D

I had the same dilemma, but went for the 2.0 FSI L&K. It's a wonderful car and I look forward to driving it, every time. One big bonus for my wife and I are the memory seats. They are just so convenient. Go for it.

Nope, mine is a manual one. It's either the new L&K spec or mine is a shocking mis-build!

I can see the logic behind it, how often does the passenger seat get fiddled with?

Out of all the extras on the L&K, the only one I would really like is ESP. I think the overall package is worth the cost, however.

Passenger seat definitely manual. Memory driver's seat brilliant if more than one person drives car. Blue tinted door mirrors are poor, especially in dim light and/or rain.

The 'new' spec L&K with the light Grey leather looks awesome , it is an expensive vehicle though!!

I agree about the mirrors, it looks like everyone behind has xenon headlamps, I would rather have the untinted ones TBH. The auto dim mirrors were chopped to balance the L&K package due to ESP, xenons etc.

I would love to retro fit the auto dimming glass to my door mirrors.

Interesting point - I wonder what would be involved with replacing the blue tints with auto dimming mirrors? Alternatively I'm thinking of replacing them with untinted mirrors. Anyone know how easy/expensive it is to change the glass only?

The glass is relatively easy to do, I've taken a mirror apart and remove the glass to replace one of the LED repeaters after some kn0b smashed it.

The wiring for dimming mirrors may be an issue as they receive the dimming instruction from the interior mirror.

Thanks for that - I might consider replacing the glass; hints as how to do it would be really appreciated.

Depends on whether you are courting or not!

Memory setting 3 on the drivers seat is for "special occasions"
