Skoda MFD Sat Nav

Featured Replies

Hi Folks just managed to get hold of a Skoda MDF Sat Nav DX unit P/N 1U0 035191 A

I have a GPS antenna, a Code, a Plug and Plug Cable and discs

Is it just a case of plugging in all this and that is it. Or is there any further wiring adding etc.

If anyone has any further instructions and a PDF of the operation manual I would be thank full of help.

Cheers

I have a pdf of the instruction manual for the VW version that I could email.

Aww, I thought he'd made a satnav out of MDF ;)

The system's pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. Volume on the left, select on the right (turn to move the highlight, push to activate). If the woman's speaking, then the volume control adjusts her, if she's not, it's the music volume - that can catch you out if she starts talking at the wrong moment! The radio stations and discs in the changer are selected with the 6 buttons - rotating the select control won't do anything here.

Finally, TP1 and TP2 are radio stations with traffic announcements active, FM1 and FM2 are radio stations too (mine are exactly the same), but you won't get traffic announcements interrupting them. Yes, the only way to turn traffic news on or off from the map screen is to press Audio, Audio, rotate right/left as appropriate, push select, press Navi. If the last station you listened to was on TP1/2, you'll get traffic during Aux or CD mode, if it was on FM1/2, you won't. Madness.

But, once you're used to it, it's a very good addition to the car, looks neat and tidy, and the navigation accuracy is pretty spot on - mine's only lost itself once or twice in a year of every day use!

PS: That install guide is awesome ;)
