Vibe Space II - any good?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of getting a Vibe Space II sub (either 12" or 15") combined with either a Vibe Black Box Bass 4 or 5 amplifier.

Anyone got any comments on the quality of these combinations. Is the Slick A7 better than the Black Box amps?

Also, best place to purchase? I've seen a 15" Space II on eBay for £199.99 which seems really cheap.

Any alternative recommendations?

Thanks,

Jon.

It's got to be worth a try.

I have a 10" Vibe Black Air, which was already boxed and the amp attacted to the box so it doesn't take up too much room. It sounds fine :) I like the Vibe subs. My mate had the 12" and that was great too. I used to have a 12" KIcker Solobaric in my Mondeo, now htat was a sick, sick puppy! lol! It was 600RMS (my Vibe is 300RMS) I used to have a 1200W amp, and had it practically turned off and it was still too loud!!

What kind of music do you want to listen to? Because 15" is a big sub and you're likely to get sub lag with any reasonably fast beats, they are best for a slow bassline such as R&B, I would go with a 12"

Thanks Loz :)

I listen to mostly metal and dance, some slower ambient and trance stuff but not R&B. Sounds like a 12" for me (wife will be pleased :P ).

This statement is often used, yet is 100% wrong.

The speed of travel is not linked to the size of speaker, and thus a 15" is no slower than a 8" sub.

To the OP, the Vibe Space stuff is good, but you can do better.

Have a read over on Talk Audio and all will become clear ;)

i agree, the bigger subs can move as fast as little subs but require more power to do so. I think that is where people get confused. The bigger subs will also hit louder deeper notes than the smaller ones IIRC.

Yes the above is true, a mate of Mine has a vibe 12" in his car. For what it is it sounds awsome.
