Is this the cheapest vRS ever?

Featured Replies

Hey all

Ive just been doing the usual browse on Autotrader and I found this Octy vRS in Black Magic on an 03 plate for £2995! Admittedly is has 110000 miles on it , but it comes with FSH , now the question is , is this a case of "if it looks too good to be true , then it usually is" or is this the genuine level of a high milage vRS nowadays?

The ad is here...

SKODA OCTAVIA 1.8T VRS 5dr - Auto Trader UK

It does seem a little underpriced, but then it is on a (non-Skoda) dealer forecourt. Might be just a typo as I'd expect that car to be worth at least £4000 really, even with 110k on the clock

I was crying when I sold mine for £7500 in 2003 , I cannot believe they are a 3 grand car now!

They usually arent!

I paid £3600 last month for my black magic octy vrs 52 plate with 110 thousand on the clock x:P

Hmm , so maybe they are getting down to the 3K level now...I might give the garage a ring tomorrow , just out of curiosity.

Thats a decent price! Oh, did you get your engine fault fixed?

yes and no took it to turbo speacialist around here who cleaned the maf and throttle body and touch wood its been ok for 2 weeks but the temp gauge has a mind of its own so get that booked in next week that could be the problem after all but still running sweet so not worried to much need to get on with modding it now as for the price i paid knocked him down from 4000 xx:P

Just an update about this car , yes it was a £2995 Octavia vRS , not the cleanest example you'll ever see , but it has now been sold , not to me though!

Would seem to me that it's in a bit of a state cosmetically and they want a quick sale :)

Glass's give the following values on a vRS of that age and mileage:

Part-exchange Price:

Excellent condition:

£3960

Average condition:

£3540

Below average condition:

£3110

So perhaps the previous owner got a good deal on what he was purchasing and a rock bottom P/X on the vRS? Or he could have been done over on both of course

Yes youre right Wardy , it had a 2 foot scratch on the nearside rear quarter and a cracked rear bumper , and thats all I could see because it was in the garage up on the ramp , I would think it was neglected all over. I know how fussy I am , so I doubt very much if I would have bought it if it was still unsold , even at that price , so , for me , the search goes on!
