VRS turbo in PD100??

Featured Replies

As there is a PD130 turbo for sale at the minute, I've been wondering what I would have to do if I wanted to upgrade my car??

Could I just replace the turbo or would I need to start upgrading everything else? (if so, what would I need to consider?)

Best PM'ing maxcars1. Hes got a PD100 ibiza and has carried out a PD130 turbo upgrade. If you want to get full power from the turbo you'll need to injectors as well.

And I'd imagine a remap too to make use of it.....

Yup - that turbo of Schrick's and a set of pd130 injectors (I have a set ;) but am sending them away for honing so should have a spare set in the coming months once I get them back and swapped) you will be able to get around 175/180bhp from the pd100 engine.

Anyone know how much injectors are likely to be and where would be the best place to source them from??

Just a hint, try devonutopia in the next month or two.

Once I get my injectors honed (need to rustle up some cash if you fancy putting a deposit down on my pd130 stock ones ;)) I will only want around £100 for my full set. :) Usually, they cost over £300 each from dealers and most scrappers want £200+ for a set.

Consider me very tempted;). Can I change the injectors myself or is it an Awesome GTI job??

I would use Allard personally, but if Awesome are nearer then I see no reason why they couldn't. Turbo swap is easy enough, but the injectors are quite fiddly. I can't remember if the cam has to come out to get the injectors out. I know there was one bolt which holds a kind of clamp in. And getting the plugs off the ends is also quite fiddly.

cam stays in , but it is a job best left to the experts as accurate measuring is required to fit them correctly
