New Octy L&K stereo removal

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've just got myself a nice shiiiiny new L&K with the audience stereo. I want to use my dab adaptor so I can listen to 6music, but need to know if there are any "gotchas" regarding getting the stereo out...

Any ideas before I just go in gung ho with a screwdriver and a trim-splitter?

Cheers, FBSF.

Took my audience out of my new L&K the other week, no gotcha's

Simple really......prise of front surround thingy, then unscrew the 4 retainer screws.

A word of advice about the DAB adapter. Not sure what one you intend to use, but you'd be better off replacing the HU with a proper DAB unit and fitting a proper roof aerial. Otherwise, unless you confine all your driving to an area with very good signal strength, you will be disappointed. The only trouble is, this route will not come cheap. My Blaupunkt DAB54 setup, including the CANBUS adapter, facial adapter and dual band DAB aerial, cost around 450 quid, and that's using Ebay and DIY fitting.

The only consolation is it's not too difficult to install.
