Powertec SL1

Featured Replies

i installed this last night at like midnight lol, dont ask, me and my mate thought it be good since it was nice and quiet...

first impressions, well the standard air box was a bit of a bitch to remove, bottom half which was bolted to the car body. Anyways on driving around, it sounds like you have a performance exhaust, its more of that kinda tone when accelerating rather than the typical induction noise you get from say a K&N (though that might sound different from when I had one on my pug 206 1.1l). It drones a fair bit when you let go of the accel pedal an all.

However, not too sure on performance, sure at that time of night it was quite cold so obviously getting some more densed air coming through, but not feeling the performance. Maybe it is heat soak? My mate claims it seems to be a lot smoother when pulling now.

Another thing, one of the rachet ends fell of and it went under the water reservoir on the right of the engine bay and then underneath the light... is this hard to get to? lol i need to get this out as i dont like the idea of it rattling around and damaging anything... im guessing either under the car or removing the light if possible?

Dont know why they make it so tight in there!

I had a Powertec SL1X on my Corsa for a bit and that sounded amazing - all in the metal mesh.
