Reversing Light Switch?

Featured Replies

I've got a slight problem with my Felicia, which is as follows...

The reversing lights on my Felicia are very tempremental, some times they'll come on when reverse is engaged, whereas other times they won't come on at all.

I've been told by a mechanic at work. that my reversing light switch (I think thats what its called) underneath the car is loose, and needs sorting. Just before I brought it, the clutch and exhaust were replaced, and the cable may have become lose then.

Is there any easy way of sorting it, or do I have to take it to a garage?

The switch on the Fabia is a known problem so it could be the same on the Felicia?

Not entirely sure, I'm taking it in for a service soon, so I'll get it looked at then..

Dead easy on a Felicia (same as a Favorit ) Look under the front of the car and you will see the switch with two wires attached on the gearbox casing. They are only screwed in but make sure you are quick with the new switch or get the car nose up to stop the cat pee smelling oil running out ! You will proberly need to take the undertray off because it will make the job far easier.

Have the same problem on mine - soaked it in WD40 and its been ok since (touch wood). As skudupnorth says the switch can be changed reasonably easily, however you might loose a bit of the foul smelling oil - and be warned it is repulsive!
