To buy another mk1 octy vrs or not

Featured Replies

Well it's time to make another automotive decision.

My golf is nearly done so i was thinking of either selling it and getting a octy vrs again or to just 20v the golf?

I like the golf and done 95% of the work on it myself and a 20v wpuld take it a stage further. Golf in question from start to now. Skint Autoverein -> My mk2 build thread but i liked the comfort of the octy but would have to do it different this time to last. My old octy http://www.cardomain.com/ride/495368.

Think my main problem is i like the building part but when it's done i get bored

Im still building mine, getting there slowly. Hydraulic pedal box is now built and ready to be fitted in. Once the engine bay is fully stitch welded its going to be cleaned up and painted. Not sure on removing the top bulkhead section yet, may or may not.

Sticking with big bumpers and body kit though :)

Keep the Golf and do the 20VT its a hoot.

yup another vote to 20VT the golf.

I'd love a MK2 20VT golf

I guess my engine bay is going tidy then..lol

Might as well seeing as im there.

Well i have 4 options realy.

Guy who purchased my last mk2 sold it and wants another so has offered me good money for mine but i only use it at weekends so dont know if i would need a octy but i did regret getting rid of mine.

If i keep the golf 3 engine options are.

Stick with my recently rebuilt 2.0 16v and run it of twin 45's thus enabling to delete a lot of wiring etc from the engine bay.

20v turbo, more than likely be a 225 engine.

VR6 it and run it for a while then supercharge it.

Golf's looking good Ross.

Main problem with mine is being a 16v as need to change quite a lot of things to 8v for the 20v or vr6 conversion.
