Standard alarm flashing LED in door - not working!

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Does anyone know how the little flashing LED on the drivers door (showing alarm activation) works? Is it simply a connector to power it or is it something more complex?

Ive realised that mine hasnt been working for a bit and I reckon its from around the time I had the windows out for tinting - could the guys have simply forgot to connect it back up when refitting the window/interior panel or would it be hard wired and therefore another issue?

I'll have the door panel off next weekend but Id rather have some info to go on before I get to that stage.

Cheers,

Lee

It's just a very simple 2-wire connector that you have to connect as you offer up the inner door panel.

Sounds like they forgot.

As I've never seen this connector I can't comment specifically, but don't forget that LEDs have to be connected the correct way round. If, once you've got to it, it appears connected, see if you can connect it the other way.

I'd say connections too, but if not don't forget that two clicks on the 'lock' button will lock the car but (IIRC) disable the alarm interior sensor and/or deactivate the deadlocks (I know my old Xantia did something similar, but I can't remember the exact details so get confused between the two!)

So if the connections don't sort it, maybe the CL needs resetting. IIRC (again), you press and hold the 'lock' button - but I'm unsure about that. A search would help if it comes to it...

I have seen it and if I remember correctly it only connects one way. ;)
