Fabia component speakers choice

Featured Replies

Dear all,

I've just finished fitting replacement components in the front doors of my Fabia. Just thought I'd let you know that I used the SPL Audio 6.2 speakers and thought I'd share with you how convenient they turned out to be. If you unclip the silly plastic mounting around the replacement tweeters, they fit in the same place as the factory tweeters (just put a bit of glue to hold them there). The crossovers fit the other side of the window winding handle (it's doesn't have electric windows) and the woofers fit in the same place as the factory speakers when you bulk out the mounting point with some mdf rings. I used 2 x 12mm and 1 x 18mm rings on each door. The door card poppers don't all go back into place, but the screws go in and the door closes without problem. I worry though that this means the door might vibrate with the bass... We'll see...

Just thought I'd share this with you all, just in case it helps anyone.

Also, the article entitled 'Fabia vRS front door speaker change' is priceless.

as I posted a few days ago , on my year 2000 Fabia , by using bluetak on the original mounted speaker I found that two 18mm MDF rings left a 5 mm gap with the door card fully refitted . The door card slopes inwards at the bottom of the speaker. No rattles whatsoever.

I take it your meant SPL Dynamics SD-6.2?

If so how do they sound?
