Replacing a front wing

Featured Replies

First post and I need some help  A mate had an arguement with a tree whilst going sideways on some wet leaves and has put a massive dent in the o/s wing. Dent removal people want £150 to pull it out  So I thought the best option would be to get a new wing from the breakers, get a bodyshop to spray it then fit it myself. But how easy is that to do? Is there any welding involved or does it just bolt on?

How much knowledge do you have about fixing cars? Doubt there's any welding involved when fitting a wing, but I don't know for certain. I do know that I wouldn't attempt it though! Where abouts are you based? If you're near Liverpool I know an excellent body shop which is usually pretty cheap. Would have thought that a wing from a breakers yard and a full spray will cost you the best part of £150 anyhow...

I would say it would work out round about the same price aswell :)

Thanks for the replies. I'm fairly handy with a set of spanners :D I reckon I can get a wing for about £30/£35 and I know a bloke who knows a bloke who will be able to spray it for me. I'd probably rub down and prime myself then get the bodyshop to spray the colour. Or, if the bank balance doesn't permit, I'll push it out as best I can and bodge the rest with P38 and 3M putty :P
