VRS servicing costs

Featured Replies

Just been quoted £175 for my se's first/10000 mile servicing by Alex Lawrie in Liverpool. I have read on some other threads that people have only paid £80 ish. When I queried this with the service dept they told me that that would just be an oil and filter change which I could have done. The car is only 5 months old and I have accrued the milage commuting to Preston every day on the M6. I intend on selling the car post servicing as my personal circumstances have changed. Does my car need a full inspection and what do they do extra to the oil and filter anyway.

What servicing should I get?

Any help greatly appreciated...

If you are on 20k miles a year, then at 5 months old, I'd just be getting the "lube" service which does not include the annual inspection and hence is £80. At the 20k service you would then have a service (which includes the annual inspection) as you only need one annual inspection a year.

If you're selling it that puts you in a different position. I'd probably just get the "lube" service done as it's all that is needed at the moment. If you're px'ing it, I wouldn't bother with the service at all as it's not going to buy you anything in resale value as the selling dealer will service it anyway....

I'm gonna sell it privately as the trade in is only £10300 although 1 dealer offered me £10800 if I drove it half way across the country to him. I'm not gonna be looking for much more than that to be honest but every penny counts right...lol

My 10,000 service was just under £150. Which I thought was a major rip off! got quoted £120 @ local garage, who used skoda bits, but mine was going in for warrenty work anyway, so i thought i'd let them do the service while it was in...saves being without car for 2 days as opposed to one.

£95 for 10k lube service. Robert Eardley Crewe.

My Fabia VRS has just come up for its 40000 mile service and its 4 years old. i have been quoted £242 for the servie, £38.50 for the MOT and £274 for the CAM belt doing by the main dealer.

I use to go Alex Lawrie in Liverpool but i find Chaplehouse in Wigan cheaper and the custom service is alot better:thumbup:

I'll give them a call. My old S2000 servicing used to cost me £130 and they would do my mot for £20 if done at the same time. Lookers Honda Liverpool. Best dealership and customer service i've ever experienced. I only hope Skoda will be nearly as good.

If anyone is local to Cambridgeshire, I recommend C.A.R.S in Peterborough (01733 326138).

I have been using them for the last 10 years as they always do a first class job at very reasonable costs and only use top quality parts, saving a fortune over dealer prices.

Just had all my discs and pads changed (all round) for £200 inc VAT and my lads Cambelt inc tensioners rollers and an oil service on his A3 1.9TDI for £295 inc VAT.

A guy in work had his vrS done by a VW Audi specialist near St. Helens - they use genuine Skoda parts and it was £40 cheaper than what Alex Lawrie quoted him. I'll try and find out exactly where it was.
