Instrument display hood rattle

Featured Replies

I've managed to trace an annoying rattle to the hood of the instrument display (the bit of the dash that arches over the instrument display). If I reach over the steering wheel and press down slightly on it, the rattle stops. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can cure the rattle easily? I don't want to have to press down on it in front of my mates ;)

Mine does exactly the same. It's depressing as I am always trying to stop things rattling now. Infact it sometimes gets dangerous:eek:

I think it's the screen for the dash that creaks against the surround. Can't think of anything to fix it

i agree with the suspicion that its the screen creaking , mine does it

I wonder if it is possible to jam something transparent between the top of the screen and the hood, like some sellotape. You're right about it being a creak Chris, my 'rattle' description was way off. I'm going to take a look at what can be done later today once I affix my Briskoda sticker. :D

its not too difficult to get the instrument cluster out , i've fitted very thin felt tape to the top of the cluster where it hit the dash hood , seemed to improve things
