LSD luvliness, but need help!

Featured Replies

The diff sounds like it is installed in my donor gearbox, and is turning smoothly - so it sounds like my prior shim issue is OK. (had a preload issue)

Now the box is going back together, we don't know the torque ratings of the main gearbox casing bolts. Does anyone have access to this? It's the normal vRS (and others) 6 speed gearbox. This one came off a Seat Cupra PD160, but I doubt that really matters. :D

If anyone can tell me the Nm, that would be cool. Then you know what the last job will be to do, eh? ;)

OK - scratch this one. I forgot about the "files" I had on CD. All sorted. :D

Good to hear it's sorted - I broke a couple before using a proper torque value. Hope you glued the thing back with proper assembly paste - had to make do with grey high temp RTV silicone....

Watch out for the loss of the normal 'unwinding' effect of steering on full-power turns - you have to straighten it without any normal force assisting you. Can catch you unawares first time round (well it did me!).

Good news! now to look fwd to your new 1/4 mile times (lol)

Cheers
