Lost the one-touch facility on driver's electric window

Featured Replies

Hi

I used to be able to just touch the electric window controls for the front windows on my Fabia and they would rise/lower. Suddenly I've lost that facility for the driver's window, though it still remains for the passenger one.

It happened at the same time that I changed the battery, and power was disconnected for a time. Could this be a clue? Any ideas how to get it back? I'm fed up with having to keep my finger on that button!

Thanks

With the window already closed, press the up button for a few seconds...usually restores the function for me.

You change it by the ignition or something, I think - My first attempt to give someone advise (Which is probably useless!) But God loves a tryer.

I'm sure someone else will make what I've wrote 10times clearer

Carlisle Woop!! close to me, sorry for going OFF TOPIC. good luck with the switch!

It's done using the drivers side lock on the Fabia. Get out of the car, put the key in the lock and turn it so it locks the car. Then turn it so it unlocks the car and hold it there. You'll find both front windows wind down.....hold the key here for a few seconds once the windows have finished opening. Then turn the key the other way and hold it there to shut the windows, once again holding it in the lock position once the windows have finished closing.

That's the autoclosure etc reset.

You guys are brilliant. I used the 'Fletch' method and it works.

Just popping outside to try the 'Chrispy' method.

Thanks to all.

Mine did this, worked fine again once I got the dealer to change the switch unit (under waranty of course)

pull both switches up untill the windows shut hold for a few seconds and then down till the windows are open and hold down for a few seconds, should work then, worked for me anyways
