HELP!!! need MSDN Vista ultimate DVD..

Featured Replies

wonder if any kind soul with access to a MSDN subscription can help me....

in a fit of rage last night (to do with nvidia nforce drivers  ) i reformatted my PC.. it was running the MSDN version of vista ultimate, as i have a legitamate code for it..

However, the OEM vista dvd will not accept said code, and i seem to have lost the original MSDN DVD image... :o

could anyone who has MSDN access pleeese either host the iso or burn a dvd for me? - i would be uber-greatful for ever and ever and ever!!!

I'll just go and grab a devloper. They should have one.

On the same lines does anyone have an OEM office 2007 disk that they can copy for me.

We've bought a couple of OEM packs but they've stopped including the media and an action pack subscription disk won't take our product keys.

Yes to both of you :D

Catch me later on msn and we can sort something out :)

I'm now sorted for the Office disk - managed to track one down elsewhere , but thanks for the offer.

OK Alex.

Neo, I thought there was only one distro of Vista which catered for all versions and all types of licence, and it was during the install that you determined which version and licence you have and then put in the corresponding product key.

I can make you an ISO of the generic image and get it over to you, but you've put doubt in my mind as to whether there is just one image or if there's a different one for the MSDN version...

i too thought this.. but considering my vista key does not work on a legit vista DVD makes me have doubts...

EDIT: IIRC the vista i was running was vista RTM.... maybe theres a difference

WOOOOHOOOO sorted..

it was a very very ugly hack in the end! lol - id used vista complete pc backup and restore to backup the C: before i nuked it (it wouldnt let me restore either.. POS!) and vista wasnt accepting my code... SOOO:

i mounted the VHD that the backup had created loaded the registry hives from my previous installation... found the encrypted keys for the code, de-crypted them then injected into the new installation... reboot, hit activate and voila... vista ultimate is activated again :D

now i just have to get my profile back

I'd have thrown it out the window or hit it with a hammer so well done.
