Cheapo graphics cards

Featured Replies

Well, I'm in the market for a new graphics card for my PC as my FX5500 (think that's what it was) has given up the ghost. Budget of around £30, should be reasonably competent at games but nothing too fancy, be AGP, run under XP and I'd ideally like to pick it up today.

So, I've narrowed it down to the following:

SAPPHIRE 9550 256MB DDR GRAPHICS CARD - 8xAGP VGA / DVI / TVOut : sap-955025

Saphire 9250 256MB DDR AGP VGA/TVO/DVI (TSOP 128bit) : sap-925025

Novatech GeForce 6200 256MB 8xAGP DVI/TVO Graphics Card : nov-gf6225

Novatech GeForce FX5500 256MB 8XAGP Graphics Card TV Out : nov-fx5525

From having a quick Google, the only difference between the GeForce cards is that the FX5500 uses 128-bit memory addressing whereas the 6200 may use 128-bit or 64-bit depending on the model, but still faster and better to overclock than the 5500. Not that that's a make or break difference.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Chris
