ECU reset??

Featured Replies

I recenlty took my Fabia vRS with an Angel Remap back to the dealer to have some new turbo pipes and an egr fitted under warranty.

Iam now curious as to whether my ecu has been flashed back to standard by them while it was in their hands. I have got so used to driving my car I cant tell whether its still got the map on it. Will they do this when they clear fault codes off the ecu?

Is there anyway of knowing apart from a rolling road?

Cheers

The difference between mapped and standard should be like chalk and cheese. They may have reflashed your ECU at the dealer, but if they found the map, they should have refused the warranty work (strictly speaking you voided it by mapping the car)

Angel also should be able to tell. maybe they can flash the map back on if needed? But, you really should be able to tell the difference. :)

AFAIK (unlike Ford!) it's not standard practice to flash ECU's unless there's a reported problem so it's unlikely that they would do this for you. The MAP is held in a different part of the ECU to the fault codes.

As for telling, does it pull to the red line, what's the 0-60 time, how smokey is the car?
