VRS Breakdown

Featured Replies

Hi guys

I've had my used petrol vrs just over a week its got 4400 miles on the clock and it started missing under load which i thought was a coil breaking down i called skoda assist and they had a look it appears number 1 coil/plug hole at some point has been full of water coil was all rusty so after clean up it runs fine anyone know how this could of happened or is it a common fault?

That’s what happens when an engine bay is pressure washed too hard.

But why would it be running ok for the last week and it hasn't been pressure washed while i've had it

It took a while to work its way through. If water got in there from any other source you would have more problems than that, to be honest I think it would be impossible for internal water to get in there and to get in there from an external source you would have to submerge the car. Ahh, that’s a thought-where did you buy it? A flood damaged area? Some cars are known to have escaped the crusher as so many have been damaged this year in floods.

Were close to the coast but no flood damage the dealer had it a while before i bought it think i might ask the dealer to change the coil just to be sure
